Welcome Back Stevie , Peterhead 1 - 1 Queen's Park

Steve Canning made his return as a sub as Queen's took a point from ten-man Peterhead.

Canning , who has been out with a broken leg since July , came close to a hero's return but his last minute volley was wonderfully saved by Blue Toon Keeper Barry Thomson.

Queen's started the better side but nearly went one down. Keith Gibson volleyed from thirty yards but a great stop by David Crawford kept things level.

But Queen's took the lead after 25 minutes. Mark Ferry latched onto a poor Scott Michie clearance and sent a curling shot past a bemused keeper.

Queen's were given another advantage before the interval. Craig Tully chopped down Richard Bowers on the far side and Stephen Finnie rightly ordered off the former Elgin player.

Sadly the Spiders lost Bowers to injury and on came Tony Livingston.

In the second half Peterhead were the better side and got a goal on the hour. Jamie Buchan's shot was deflected by David Hagen , the deflection wrongfooted DC and the ball ended up in the net.

Queen's attempted to get the win they deserved but could not find the breaktrough. A string of top quality saves by Barry Thomson kept Queen's out.

Frankie Carroll had the ball in the net with the last kick of the game but he was clearly offside.

East Fife next week and maybe our German visitors can inspire us onto Victory.
