They all Count for Queen's , Albion Rvs 1 - 2 Queen's Pk

Queen's made the short trip to Cliftonhill to take on a 'Rovers side whose only ambition is to finish a lowly 8th place. Queen's however were hoping for the win against Albion and Montrose to lose at home to Gretna to leave finishing third place totally in Queen's hands.

The Spiders side was without Richard Bowers after he picked up a hamstring injury against East Fife , and Frankie Carroll returned. Sinclair also stepped out to be replaced by McGinty while Ally Graham dropped to the bench to make way for Shaun Molloy.

Queen's started the brighter and left Fahey helpless minutes in. Paul Harvey rolled the ball out in front of Mark Ferry who rattled a 25yd shot off the crossbar. Queen's left Fahey reeling at his defence again minutes later. Paul Harvey used the strong wind to great effect and curled it off the crossbar.

Queen's continued to create chances and got the goal they deserved. Danny Ferry delivered the ball and after a spot of ping-pong from Mark Ferry & McInulty at the back post the ball cannoned in off the Rovers defender.

Seconds later there was a sense of de-ja-vu as Alan Trouten this time delivered the cross. Mark Ferry rifled the ball off Wallace and the deflection clearly changed the direction of the ball O.G and Queen's were 2:0 up.

At H/T Queen's made no changes as Montrose were losing 0:1 to Gretna this would take us into third place so it was all going reasonably well for Queen's.

In the second half Queen's were not half as convincing. Frankie Carroll may have been lucky to avoid the red card after he lashed out at McInulty but ref Downie thankfully only flashed a booking.

Rovers pulled one back when a cross , helped on by the wind , found Patrick who lobbed Crawford the ball took a deflection off Molloy on the way in , but no it was not a third O.G.

Queen's did see out the remaining part of the game pretty comfortably. When Patrick's free kick found it's way into Crawford's arms. The Spiders faithful thought we should have had a penalty. It looked like a stonewaller when Silvestro chopped down Trouten. Queen's held on and with Montrose losing 0:4 to Gretna we moved into fourth place.
