Queen's Made the long trip to Angus to play a Montrose side who were on a roll of three victories , 1h 45mins later a depressing QP performance handed the Links Park men another victory.

Queen's knocked the ball about with equisite ease in the first ten minutes but never looked like challenging Jim Butter. Montrose made a few chances though both Wood & Smart were prevented by the outstretched arms of David Crawford in the Queen's goal.

After fourteen mins Queen's created their first opening. The Montrose right back made a short headed backpass but Carroll could only put the ball far enough to be saved by Butter.

Queen's dominated the rest of the half and were denied a stonewall penalty on the stroke of half time. Donnachie clearly handled the ball while it was on the ground preventing Ally Graham putting the ball in the net. But the referee gave Montrose a free-kick.

In the second half Montrose struck early. Trouten & Rushford both made seperate mistakes on the right hand side of the park and Wood calmly converted from a difficult angle. Minutes later it was two. Smart rushed on goal and was clearly fouled by Rushford. Penalty.... and Smart cooly struck home.

The game petered out with Queen's only creating two more chances. Frankie Carroll had a shot cleared off the line and Butter saved a Felvus shot.
