Sloppy Spiders Settle For Stalemate, East Stirling 0 - 0 Queen's Park

Queen's put in a performance that lacked any real cutting edge and were made to settle for a poor point with bottom dogs Shire on the Firs Park quagmire.

Billy Stark made two changes to the side that performed so credibilly at Arbroath, Murray and Quinn dropped to the bench, in came Harvey and Trouten.

Queen's started brighter but were quite wasteful in the final third and failed to cut through the Shire back line, Trouten and Kettlewell did come close though. Trouten blew a golden chance midway through the half when a long ball by Ferry was completely mishit at the back post and was sent looping out of play when it looked easier to score. Afterwards Ferry's cut inside saw him rattle the woodwork and moments later Weatherston done the same when he looped the ball over Jackson and off the post. At the end of the half Trouten was booked for a blatant dive in the Shire box.

Sadly for Queen's this was poor and worse was to come in the second by the Queen's players. They lacked ideas the entire half, Clark and Ferry did come close but no closer than Shire who easily could have won the game with two gilt edged chances blown by ex Queen's transfer target Marc McKenzie.

It surely can't get much worse in front of goal against the Durties at Alligator Park on Tuesday night.
