SFL 3rd Division - Queen's Park 0 - 2 Berwick Rangers

Last updated : 15 January 2007 By Andyboy
BS started with a much. changed side from the Cliftonhill defeat to Albion Rovers. David Crawford kept his place between the sticks with a defence of Paton, Dunlop, Canning and Sinclair in front of him. The midfield consisted of Kettlewell, Trouten, Cairney, Ferry and Ronald. Weatherston was the lone striker.

We started the stronger in horrible conditions with both Stuart Kettlewell and Alan Trouten forcing decent stops from O'Connor within the first ten minutes of the match. We began to lose our firm grip on the game and became embroiled in a scrappy midfield affair and it was Wee Gers who took the lead on 40 minutes.

A whipped cross by Greenhill swirled in the wind and tall, obese striker Kevin Haynes headed home from six yards outjumping the helpless Richard Sinclair and beating the stranded Crawford. Berwick extended their lead minutes later, Greenhill rifiling a low shot from the edge of the box.

The second half saw a brief Spiders revival with Ferry hitting the post and O'Connor making a decent stop from Weatherston but the game ended with Berwick extremely comfortable. Poor stuff from Queen's.
