SFL 3rd Division - Dumbarton 1 - 2 Queen's Park

Last updated : 29 April 2007 By Andyboy
Queen's were forced to make a change minutes before kick off as Damiano Agostini pulled a hamstring in the warm up meaning youngster Andy Boslem was handed his debut for the first team.

Dumbarton started the better side and Borris missed two glaring opportunities to put the side ahead before they were awarded a penalty after Canning hauled down Borris in the box.

John Dillon stepped up and placed a good penalty high to DC's right only for the Spiders keeper to make a fine save pushing it over the bar. Queen's were boosted by this and minutes after took the lead.

With 31 minutes gone Stephen Canning unleashed a 25 yard shot which looked as if it was heading wide, but Robert Dunn's back got in the way and deflected the ball past the bewildered Stephen Grindlay. Queen's continued to dominate from now on and in the Second Half chance after chance was squandered.

Before substitute David Weatherston knocked in a loose ball from six yards following Paul Paton's free kick to seal the game. Dumbarton notched a late consolation goal, Tommy Coyne's 20 yard volley beating the on form David Crawford all ends up.
