Queen's Run Goes On As Stenny Fall At Hampden, Queen's Park 2 - 0 Stenhousemuir

Queen's recorded their third straight victory and clean sheet with a comfortable win over league leaders Stenhousemuir at Hampden.

The same side which dumped East Stirlingshire 4-0 at Firs Park was named by coach Billy Stark.

And, it took Queen's six minutes to open the scoring. Bryan Felvus beat Renwick down the right and forced a corner off Denham, Trouten played a low ball which Ferry hit towards the top corner, as the ball headed wide Felvus glanced a header past McCulloch and into the net.

Queen's could have extended their lead not too long after when Weatherston outpaced Denham and lobbed the ball over McCulloch, the young striker was unlucky to see the ball hit the roof of the net.

Mick Dunlop also came close for Queen's before half time. Trouten won a free kick thirty yards out and he blasted a low shot just wide of the mark.

The second half seen Stenny look more threatining but the Spiders defence stood firm and got their reward on 64 minutes. Alan Trouten was pulled down by Henderson on the edge of the box and referee Chrissy Boyle had no choice but to point to the stop, Reilly stepped up, and sent it high to the keepers left and into the back of the net.

Stenny had a few chances to get back in the game but DC made good saves from David Templeton & JP McBride.
