Elgin left stunned by late Queen's fightback, Elgin City 2 - 2 Queen's Park

Queen's made the long trip to Elgin and only a late Davie Weatherston - Steven Reilly one-two salvaged a point for the spiders.

The Spiders looked dead and buried after Martin Johnstone & Mark Booth had given the Highlanders a two goal half time lead but young sub Weatherston & a Stevie Reilly penalty gave Queen's a share of the spoils.

With Paul Harvey & Richard Sinclair both injured Shaun Molloy & Alan Trouten stepped in, also, Davie Weatherston was replaced by Jonny Whelan.

The game took a while to come to life and sadly the first real action was a City goal. A cross into the box was not cleared properly and Andy McGinty's header landed at the feet of Martin Johnstone, who preceeded to smash home from twelve yards.

And, in moments a second came, Mark Booth beat DC to a loose ball before sliding the ball into the empty net. The half seemed to peter out without too much more action, except, a glorious chance for Jonny Whelan.

One on one with the keeper six yards out, he smashed the ball of the chest of Renton.

But, the Spiders second half peformance was more reminiscent of the football Billy Stark's troops played last season.

Both, Richard Bowers & Mark Ferry missed great chances before the dramatic comeback began.

A long throw from Clark was flicked off by Whelan and Weatherston capped off a fine move with a tap in from two yards.

And, four minutes later the equaliser came.

Ross Clark went on a splendid run only to be tripped by Hugh Dickson, reminiscent of the penalty he won against Peterhead last season, and, Steven Reilly decided to tuck the ball into the corner.

A good comeback & a good point, Bring on Shirey then!!!
