Hoops seal Glorious comeback

Queen's Park left it late to come from behind and defeat the Scottish Third Division's bottom side East Stirling 2-1.

A drab first half gave way to an excting second half with goals, a missed penalty and woodwork being struck.

Michael Daly hit the bar early in the second half as Queen's Park took the game to the Shire.

But it was the home side who struck first with 16 minutes remaining. David Murray found Scott Maxwell inside the Spiders' box and the latter made no mistake with his left-footed finish.

Their lead lasted only five minutes, Jamie Longworth with a clinical finish into the bottom-right corner. Queen's Park then missed a glorious chance to go ahead, McBride missing from the penalty spot.

Just as it looked like the game was heading for a stalemate, Longworth thundered in a winner in the third minute of injury time to claim all three points and his 14th league goal of the season.

Queen's Park remain third but are still 11 points behind leaders Alloa.
