Dunlop Sees Red In Bore Draw, Queen's Park 0 - 0 Arbroath

Queen's kept their great league run going on with a boring 0-0 draw against Arbroath at Hampden.

The team-sheets made interesting reading, Tony Quinn and Kevin Proctor came in for Shaun Molloy and Bryan Felvus while new signing Henry Finnbogason was ruled out with a foot knock.

The game failed to excite early on both sides cancelling each other out in midfield though Alan Brazil came close for the Lichties on twelve minutes.

There were scares about the fitness of Stuart Kettlewell and Tony Quinn who both required treatment early on.

Queen's played some good football between Quinn, Trouten and Weatherston forced Peat to save.

Minutes later Trouten was booked for a foul on Jay Stein, a silly foul nonetheless.

Then Arbroath lost Alan Brazil to what looked at the time a sore injury and what we now know is a broken leg in a 50/50 challenge with Paul Paton, and unfortunate injury, and i'm sure everyone wishes him a speedy recovery.

Queen's came close soon after when Alan Trouten's miscued cross from the right was palmed over the bar by Mark Peat.

Quinn was the second player to enter the referee's book for dissent after he contested a foul given against Stephen Reilly.

Kevin Proctor should have done better when he went one-on-one with Peat with the ball bobbling he instead elected to turn away and pass to Trouten whose shot was blocked by the retreating Ian Dobbins.

The half time whistle blew to the relief of the fans, hopefully both sides could make a better show of themselves in the second forty-five.

They did not early on in the half with the game still bogged down in midfield. Paul Harvey came on on 55 minutes and changed the pace of the game. He produced some good touches and good passes and showed some guile in the middle of the park which has made him a favourite with the Spiders faithful.

His corner let Reilly header and it was blocked on the line before Proctor had two attemps to cross blocked by defenders.

On 81 minutes Queen's were reduced to ten men in bizzare circumstances. Dunlop looked to challenge Rennie fairly in the air before Rennie fell to the ground, John McGlashan was being his usual provocative self accusing Dunlop of an elbow, which Hornby agreed with, a very, very harsh sending off.

Queen's seen off the five minutes of injury time alright and remain in a promising position for the play offs.
