Battle in Cowden , Cowdenbeath 2 - 1 Queen's Park

Last updated : 24 October 2004 By Andyboy
Queen's returned to Fife for the second time in four weeks but this time returned pointless from Central Park.

It was a tousy game which seen three ordered off. In a poor performance by Ref Alan Muir.

The only difference was that Big Ally Graham was yet to arrive at the ground and young Bryan Felvus accompanied Frankie Carroll up front.

The Spiders then took an early lead. Kettlewell knocked the ball down and Frankie took an early strike which wrong-footed Andy Carlin.

Queen's were taking it to the hosts early on. Felvus , Carroll & Kettlewell all had chances to double the lead all after Ally had just arrived at Central.

On 23 minutes the best chance so far went begging . A Kettlewell cross found Carroll four yards out who put the ball round the post.

In the space of two minutes Queen's were down. Two Free-Kicks , Two Knockdowns and two umarked forwards seen Shiels & Gribben both find the net

The second half kicked off and David McCallum's powerful volley from thirty yards had Carlin beaten only for either Ritchie's head or the post to knock it away after a Paul Harvey corner.

Also the first change was made the latecomer Ally Graham replaced young Bryan Felvus.

In the 55th minute the red card was first brandished a delibarate handball by Shields seen his second yellow card.

The ref's book was out more often than it was in. With Kettlewell , Agostini , Mauchlan & Campbell all being shown the yellow card.

Trouten , Harvey & Graham all came close but Carlin done well in goals.

In the 94th Minute Alan Muir lost the plot. McGregor hit D with a vicious lunge and The Big Man retalliated to it. When he sat down what he discovered was a halfed Shinpad & a huge gash on the leg which led to a fracas in the middle of the park. Kettlewell & Agostini seen red in a poor day for Spiders Fans.
