Berwick Rangers Player Ratings

Last updated : 09 March 2006 By Andyboy
1 - DAVID CRAWFORD
Never had to deal with too much from the Berwick forwards but when forced into action dealt with everything accordingly. 6

2 - PAUL PATON (Y)
Moved into his favoured position in the middle of the park and played the way we've learned to expect, mopped up and tackled well and was denied a decent penalty shout in the second half. 6

3 - MICK DUNLOP (Y)

Brought much needed composure to the back line, got forward well and made some great saving tackles, particuarly when he dashed across the six yard box to deal with the onrushing Haynes. 7

4 - STEPHEN REILLY (C)
Showed real composure on the ball and his tackling was top notch as usual. Showed what was one of his best performances of the season in dealing with the giant pairing of Haynes and McLeish. 8

5 - RICHARD SINCLAIR
Returned after missing the home match with Berwick and showed his usual defensive solidness, won lots in the air and recovered from his horror show at Cowdenbeath. 7

6 - ALAN TROUTEN
(Y)
Took time to settle in at right back and had a good twenty yard shot just past Garry O'Connor's right hand post near the beginning, maybe lucky to stay on the park after a blatant trip on McGroarty after already being booked. 6

7 - STUART KETTLEWELL
As usual showed the heart of a lion in the middle of the park and never pulled out a tackle, caught very late by Swanson in the second half but never let that affect him, set up David Weatherston's goal. 7

8 - TONY QUINN
Battled hard in the middle and was the only real threat in the air against the huge Wee Gers defence. Never shirked from a challenge and gave the midfield no peace when they attempted to settle with the ball. Subbed for Clark. 8

9 - DAVID WEATHERSTON (G)
Struggled early on against the brusing Berwick back line but soon settled in and never stopped running. Scored the opener and made a brilliant assist for the second. Man of The Match. Subbed for Felvus late on. 9

10 - PAUL HARVEY
Struggled in an up front role until Quinn was brought off and Clark moved up field. He then settled into his usual passing game. Had a hand in the opener with the free kick cross. 6

11 - MARK FERRY
Struggled with fatigue lately and was not his usual self going forward. Was solid in a more defensive role in the second half making some vital clearances, tackles and headers. 6

SUBSTITUTES

14 - ROSS CLARK (G)
Showed energy up front and gave the Berwick defence some hassle. Scored great goal after Weatherston cut-back. Replaced Tony Quinn. 7

16 - BRYAN FELVUS
Did not have any time to do anything. Brought on to run down the clock. 3
