Queen's Park played the second game of their German tour against VFB Gunnigfeld, situated just north of Wattenscheid, on Wednesday, and despite the evening kick off temperatures still sizzled at highs of 36C during play.

Billy Stark made five changes from the side that comfortably defeated Eppendorf 4-1 on Monday night. Stephen Reilly, Richard Sinclair, Alan Trouten, Frankie Carroll and Mark Ferry replacing Jonny Whelan, Andy McGinty, Richard Bowers, Kevin Proctor and Shaun Molloy.

The first half produced little goalmouth action as neither team impressed but David "DC Dogg" Crawford was the busier goalkeeper as the home side piled forward. Queen's passed the ball well but did not pose too many threats to the Gunnigfeld goal.

The second half was much more impressive and it took only a few minutes for Queen's Park to take the lead. A through ball found David Weatherston who had beat the offside trap to knock the ball past the keeper while in a one-on-one situation.

Frankie Carroll and David Weatherston should have extended the lead before Weatherston did so when once again unleashed one on one with the keeper. This time he rounded the Gunnigfeld keeper before sliding the ball home from a very tight angle.

The third came with only three minutes of the match remaining, a Steven Canning whipped corner met the head of sub Richie Bowers at the near post and he flicked the header past the static goalkeeper.
