SW Eppendorf 1 - 4 Queen's Park

Queen's Park's first match of their German tour ended in victory as a mostly second string side thumped local side SW Eppendorf. The game was played on what looked a poor astroturf surface in the Eppendorf area of Bochum.

The Spiders got off to a good start when a David Weatherston cross from the right wing was met with an acrobatic scissors kick by Tony Quinn which flew into the top right hand corner.

The second came soon after when David Weatherston's raking pass found Richie Bowers who proceeded to round the goalkeeper and calmly slot the ball home.

Bowers then managed to miss an identical chance minutes later but this time the Eppendorf no.1 was more than up to the task of preventing a third. Eppendorf, who had looked rather poor up to now, carved open the centre defensive pairing of Andrew McGinty and Jonny Whelan with a slick passing move and the no.9 fired a rocket into the top corner of DC's net.

The beginning of the second half saw Billy Stark ring the changes, Mark Ferry, Stuart Kettlewell, Paul Cairney and Xander Cowie replacing Tony Quinn, David Weatherson, Stevie Canning and DC. It reaped rewards minutes later when Ferry's powerful cross/shot was nodded home by "The Doctor", Kevin Proctor.

Soon it was four and Eppendorf were sunk, Proctor lined up Shaun Molloy whose rocket shot from 20 yards on the left rattled the underside of the bar and bounced over the line.
