Spiders Star Trouten Bully Wee Bound

It had been widely expected that Trouts would join Partick Thistle, the club he supported as a boy, but after a month of stalling by the money men at Firhill, the winger decided to join Rangers legend John Brown at Broadwood.

Trouten first broke into the first team at the end of season 2003/04, making his debut as a sub in a 3-1 win over Elgin City. Trouten made a big impression on this debut and by August was first choice right wing back, after being introduced by caretakers Scott Murdoch and Bobby Dickson, following the dismissal of Kenny Brannigan.

Trouten was instrumental as Queen's won promotion from last year's Division Three, scoring 12 goals between Christmas and the end of the season. He was even better last season, finishing Queen's top scorer with 14 goals and setting the Second Division alight for chunks of the campaign. Trouts leaves with the best wishes of all at Hampden, after 138 games and 28 goals in the Glorious Hoops.
