Queen's Park Strollers fell to defeat in their opening Reserve League West match of the season, against Queen Of The South at Lesser Hampden last night.

Queen Of The South held a half time lead through Andy Thomson before Frankie Carroll bagged a 67th minute equaliser, his lob catching out Doonhamers goalkeeper Scott.

The visitors notched up the winner late on from the penalty spot, Scally slamming past David Crawford after Tommy Murray brought down a QoS attacker in the box.

Plus points for Queen's coach Billy Stark will be the return of Tommy Murray from his ankle ligament damage and Frankie Carroll's first competitive goal since returning from Hampden in the summer.
