The First Round Draw for the Challenge Cup of season 2008/09, has given Queen's an interesting away match against Glasgow rivals Partick Thistle, at the Jags Firhill Stadium.
Queen's will travel to Firhill on Saturday 26th July, and the game has a kick off time, of 3.00pm. It will be a big day for a few people on both sides in this Weegie derby.Queen's boss Gardner Speirs was Jags assistant manager until he replaced Billy Stark in February of this month, while Jags boss Ian McCall was a highly rated Queen's youngster in the mid 1980s, when he played in a highly regarded Queen's side alongside players such as Mark Smith and Desi Walker.
Also, new Thistle signing Paul Paton will go head to head with old side Queen's, in what will likely be his debut as a Thistle player.
