Paton and Canning first to leave Hampden behind

21 year old Paton, who broke onto the scene as a fresh faced centre midfielder in October 2005, has since became one of the best right backs Queen's have ever seen. The all action player has been one of the star performers of the past two seasons, and his offensive play from the full back position has caused problems for every opposition team this season. Paton will never be forgotten due to his stunning 35 yard volley, which sent Queen's to promotion at East Fife, in May 2007. He leaves to boss Gardner Speirs former club Partick Thistle, and everyone at Queen's no doubt wishes Paul all the best.

Stephen Canning, 26, broke onto the scene as a 17 year old as Queen's unsucessfully struggled to avoid relegation back to Division Three, in season 2000/01. Since, Canning has been a stalwart in many different positions. Equally adept as a centre forward, centre midfielder and left full back, Canning leaves to Brechin, where he will lock horns with his former club next season. All the best Stevie, except when up against us, of course.
