Club Captain signs for Dumbarton

Last updated : 14 May 2005 By Andyboy
CLUB Captain Danny Ferry has joined former team-mate Paul Martin at Dumbarton.

Danny spent the best part of 10 years at Hampden and made his 300th appearance in February against Stenhousemuir.

He returned from a stomach injury in January and has been a virtual ever-present since then.

He was brought into the Queen's side as a teenage striker for the game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle under Hugh McCann. He failed to hold down a first team place when Graeme Elder took charge only when John McCormack came he was utilised as a right back.

Danny will be forever rembered for setting Queen's on their way to the Third Division Championship in 2000 with a 'rocket shot' that day in Cowdenbeath. He also scored one of the spiders quickest ever goals, it took him nine seconds to score in the 4-0 thrashing of Forfar at Hampden in 1997.

Best of luck to Danny.
