Queen's Park vs Montrose

Last updated : 19 January 2007 By Andyboy
Our last home win over the Gable Endies was courtesy of a Frankie Carroll goal back in January 2005, we will be looking for the returning hit man to make an impact at Hampden tomorrow against the managerless Blues.

As we slipped to seventh on Saturday with a depressing 2-0 home defeat to Berwick Rangers, Montrose were continuing their frankly depressing run as they were turned over 3-2 by form team Albion Rovers. David Roberston, manager since September, has left in the aftermath of a run which has seen them win only 1 game since they drew 1-1 at Hampden in September. This horror run included a shock 3-2 defeat to lowly Deveronvale in the Scottish Cup 1st Round.

The last time QP scored more than once in a game was in our last meeting with Montrose in November at Links Park. When David Weatherston's double and Paul Paton's free kick secured a fantastic 3-0 victory at a ground where victories had been hard to come by in previous years. Our last Hampden meeting as previously mentioned, finished in a 1-1 draw in September. An excellent Mark Ferry slam levelled after Andy Rodgers had given Montrose a 1-0 lead from the spot, though this could not hide the cracks in an abysmal Spiders performance.

On the team news front we will be without Stephen Reilly, Shaun Molloy, Damiano Agostini, Mark Cairns and Jonny Whelan are all out while Tommy Murray has left the club by mutual consent. Mon the Queen's!!

LIKELY LINE UP
XI: David Crawford, Paul Paton, Mick Dunlop, Richard Sinclair, Paul Ronald, Alan Trouten, Stuart Kettlewell, Tony Quinn, Frankie Carroll, David Weatherston, Mark Ferry

Frankie Carroll scores in a 2004 win at Montrose, more of the same tomorrow please Frankie!
