Queen's Park vs East Fife

Last updated : 02 February 2007 By Andyboy
As Spiders were being charged on by a vociferous support at Ochilview, David Baikie's Fifers were throwing away a 3-0 lead at Montrose in the last twenty minutes, to draw 3-3 with the Links Park side who had been humped 5-0 by Queen's the week previous.

Baikie's outfit held what looked to be a safe lead at the top of the table a number of weeks ago but a string of poor results have allowed Berwick Rangers to skip to the top of the league and take a massive lead at the top of the table. The Fifers haven't won a match since their 1-0 win over Queen's at Bayview in early December.

They will be hoping a busy transfer window will see them pick up form, one notable signing the addition of Queen's championship hero Paul Walker from Ayr United. Walker was sensational on loan from Stranraer towards the end of 1999/00 and Billy Stark will be hoping the Spiders old boy doesn't show the sort of form that propelled Queen's to the Championship.

Queen's will be without on form Alan Trouten, Shaun Molloy and Stevie Reilly with hamstring injuries while Frankie Carroll and Mark Cairns are again available after injury. The last time we played host to the Fifers at Hampden, we managed a 3-0 win in September. Davie Weatherston (2) and Paul Ronald grabbing the goals.
