East Fife vs Queen's Park - Preview

Last updated : 01 December 2006 By Andyboy
While Spiders were forced to settle for a disappointing point at home to Stenhousemuir last week, The Fifers were winning 2-0 at home to Montrose with on form Neil Jablonski and Kevin Gordon grabbing the goals to increase their lead at the top to 6 points.

Queen's have since experienced Scottish Cup heartbreak at home to Brechin City in midweek, losing 2-1 at Hampden in Tuesday's replay, while The Fifers had a free week giving them the fitness edge ahead of the Bayview encounter.

Spiders' record in Methilhill over the years is however something that will give Queen's fans hope of a good result. We have only lost 1 of our last 4 at Bayview when Ross Clark's og handed Fifers a victory in September 2005. Three of these four have ended in victory, the most recent when Stephen Reilly's 93rd minute penalty kick secured victory in January. This season we have met the Fifers once and inflicted a 3-0 defeat on our visitors at Hampden. Paul Ronald and David Weatherston (2) got the QP goals.

Queen's have Mark Ferry, Tony Quinn, Reilly and Richard Sinclair facing pre match fitness tests while Frankie Carroll and Shaun Molloy can again be considered for a place in the first team squad while key defender Mickey Dunlop will miss out through suspension.
