Ten Man Rovers Just Hold On As Queen's Stumble At Hampden, Queen's Park 1 - 1 Albion Rovers

Queen's three game winning streak came to a halt in a disappointing draw with ninth placed Albion Rovers at Hampden today.

Manager Stark named the same side which recorded wins over Raith Rovers, East Stirlingshire and Stenhousemuir for the New Years Derby.

Rovers started the better and took the lead only twelve minutes into the match. Scott Chaplain beat Ross Clark before blasting the ball hard into David Crawford's left hand corner from 20 yards, to be quite frank, DC should have saved it.

Queen's tried to battle back but did not pose many problems to the Rovers backline in the remainder of the half, David Weatherston came closest for Queen's.

Billy Stark's side started strong in the second half and should have taken the lead, just before the red card given to Donachy for an over the top two footed tackle on Mick Dunlop, when Alan Trouten cut the ball across the six yard box but Stuart Kettlewell could not get a touch.

Trouten, Clark & Ferry all came close before the latter equalised 76 minutes. Paul Harvey's cross was headed home powerfully at the back post.

Queen's had two great chances to win it in the last ten minutes, Alan Trouten had a shot agonisingly hit the side netting before Ferry had a long range drive blocked on the line by Noble.
