Ferry close as Fifers sneak it , Queen's Park 1 - 2 East Fife

East Fife visited Hampden on Saturday and made it a fortnight to forget for the Spiders Support.

Last week Queen's failed to sink the bottom of the league East Stirling as East Fife matched Gretna for the majority of their match. This was always going to be an interesting match.

There was only one change to the side. Paul Harvey still suffering from a bout of the flu was replaced by Brian Blair , against his old side.

The Men from Methil started brightly with a spell of corner kicks. It took 15 minutes from the Spiders to have a chance. Ally Graham nodded down to Kettlewell who'se drive was sliced past Morrison's left side post.

It took 25 minutes for the Fifers to take the lead. A free-kick was excellently chipped by Fairbairn in to DC's right hand side but should have the young keeper saved it ?? Probably !!!

The Fifers attack was causing the Spiders all sorts of problems and when Reilly could not catch up with Nicolas he rashly fouled him and earned a Booking.

It took 43 minutes for EF to extend their lead. A corner was hit to the front post. Where McDonald nodded past a static Crawford.

There was two changes as Stark reverted to a 3-5-2. Felvus replacing Graham and Agostini replacing Clark.

Queen's had to chances go-a-begging. Felvus headered over from six yards after a wonderful piece of skill from Molloy and Kettlewell failing from 12 yds after some more excellent play from the youngster. Also Brian Blair and Ketts both missed long range efforts.

It took until 75 minutes for Queen's to pull their goal back. Mark Ferry's long range effort took a slight deflection (cough....cough) and looped over Morrison.

EF soaked up lots of pressure in the last 10 minutes but QP could not find the target and the Fifers went home with all three points.
